Independence is a practice. Here is how MagTimes makes money without turning the desk into a brochure.
MagTimes exists in two forms at once: an independent newsroom covering AI, software, search, and the on-chain economy, and a growth studio that runs digital PR, SEO, and websites for clients. The model only works if the two desks share a standard, not a sales script.
The newsroom is the method
Reporting teaches us to ask what is true, what is useful, and who will stand behind a claim. Client work gets the same questions. We do not publish a page because a keyword tool produced a number. We publish it because a reader needs the answer and the company can support it.
That also means saying no. We do not take health, gambling, or adult work. We do not sell anonymous links as editorial coverage. We do not ask a journalist to pretend a campaign is a story.
The desks stay accountable
A client brief reaches a real person. A newsroom story has a named editor. The work is visible enough to question, improve, and defend.
The newsroom is not a costume the studio puts on. It is the method.
