Editorial Guidelines

MagTimes publishes editorial-grade reporting on AI, software, crypto, business operations, and the SEO industry. These guidelines explain how we work, what we publish, and the standards we hold ourselves to.

What we publish

  • Original reporting — first-hand coverage of events, products, and teams in our core beats.
  • Analysis — original thinking on the trends shaping our industries, supported by data and sources.
  • Explainer pieces — deep dives that help our readers understand complex topics.
  • Interviews — conversations with the people doing the work, on the record where possible.

What we don’t publish

  • Press releases rewritten as journalism.
  • Listicles designed to game search rankings.
  • Content marketing pieces disguised as editorial.
  • Fabricated stats, invented experts, or unverified claims.

Sourcing standards

Every claim in every story must be traceable to a primary source. When we cite a stat, we link the source. When we quote someone, we name them — unless they’ve requested anonymity for legitimate reasons, in which case we explain why.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we say so. Corrections are visible, dated, and linked from the original story. We don’t quietly edit articles without notice, and we don’t bury corrections at the bottom of pages.

Conflicts of interest

If we cover a company we have a commercial relationship with, we say so. Sponsored content is clearly labelled and visually distinct from editorial coverage. Our editorial team has final say on all editorial decisions.

Diversity and inclusion

We strive to quote, hire, and commission from a diverse range of sources. We don’t tolerate harassment of any kind, by anyone, in any context related to our work.

Tips and pitches

If you have a story we should cover, email editorial@magtimes.net. We read everything, but we can’t respond to every pitch.
